Sara Marie Miller was born in a small northern California town in the foothills. Without many toys or TV, she began drawing as a toddler. Her devotion to fine art began in high school art classes, eventually leading her to study art history, painting, drawing and sculpture at the local community college. It was at this community college where Sara began her yoga practice. After earning her associate’s degrees in Fine art, liberal arts and humanities, Sara transferred to a 4 year state university to major in fine art with a focus on studio painting where she also studied art history and gallery operations. Her senior year she took an internship at the placer county art council’s main office and gallery. After graduating with her BFA from CSUS, Sara continued her internship for a few months. Eventually she decided to leave the gallery operations career path she was on. Sara attended the yoga teacher training with Karen Barbarick at Dreamtime Yoga, earning her 200 CYT. Sara taught yoga at various gyms and studios in the northern California foothills for 9 years while she started her family. She stopped teaching in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown and moved to the Sacramento area. Sara continues to practice yoga and create art in her new home with her husband and two children.
